Meet Riley. My little man. My little Captain.
My first born. The image of his Dada. His birth was like something from a comedy {i'll leave that story for another day..} but he too was in a hurry to enter this world and has been non stop since that day. Boy does he keep me on my toes. He runs all day then crashes by nightfall, and has always been that way. I guess that is his saving grace, thank god he sleeps!
Riley will turn three in September. I know everyone says it.. but i really don't know where the time has gone. He has grown into a real little person, and what a personality! Riley is so strong willed, sincere, sweet, compassionate, caring, super sensitive and like a lot of two and a half year olds he can be dominating and bossy! I guess thats bound to happen when you have an annoying little sister and your trying to find your feet in this big, big world.
I love you my boy, more than you will ever know. You wear your heart on your sleeve just like me. Such a kind soul, i know you have been here before, you are wise beyond your years and know more than i give you credit for. I love being your Mumma, you teach me something new everyday. Thank you for filling our lives with so much joy and laughter.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous post Jody. They only get better once they turn 3, taking in so much and constantly making you laugh with the things they come out with. My (almost) 3 and a half year old sounds very similar to your Riley. He is very strong willed, but sensitive. The day he was born a midwife said to me "this one has been here before". He was so alert and gentle looking. I always think about that comment, because I also think he may have.
