A bit of a flat old week here. But what made me smile and what i am most grateful for is when, out of the blue Riley started to draw people! It was as if it had happened overnight, he had never drawn anything like it. I knew he was over at the chalkboard, then i heard him muttering 'eyes, mouth... curly hair..' I went to further investigate and to my surprise saw a little person, i couldn't believe it. One day he was drawing circles and squiggles then next it was us, he drew our little family, as well as an octopus and a yellow sun. I am oh so proud! I think this little guy is pretty ace!
I am very excited to be joining with the lovely Maxabella once again for this weeks gratefuls.
What are you grateful for?
Hoping you have a great weekend.

Hi Jody! These drawings are lovely, your little man is so cute!
ReplyDeleteit is amazing how fast little people learn jody and how they know where to put what. great photos to hold on to. you captured a great milestone. have a lovely weekend. xo.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a sweet age. I still have my first little people drawn by my boys.
ReplyDeleteI just love it when they start drawing people!!
ReplyDeleteI have my firsts too :-)
that is amazing! that first drawing reminds me of our art teacher in primary school (i was maybe 9 or 10) talking to us about portrait drawing and the different stages of learning when we start recognising what goes into a face and how to represent that on paper.. so cool! i also love that he was muttering eyes, mouth, curly hair. so sweet. x
ReplyDeleteI smiled reading this. My little one has just started drawing people in the last couple of days too and I had the same reaction - ran to see if it were true and sure enough there I was in all my round stick figured glory.
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo - it looks like he is standing back to admire his work - I think that's pretty ace too :)
That is fantastic..I didn't realise kids were that young when they first drew people!
ReplyDeleteUm, that is pretty cool Jody. They are awesome interpretations of people, Riley is a clever, artistic little boy. That would make me smile too :o) xo
ReplyDeleteThat is fab - what a great series of photos to have. My 8yo is all about art and I remember that time when she was little and watched the progression between ages 2 and 4 - it is awesome to watch.
ReplyDeleteI just love that first photo!
That is so great! What a gorgeous milestone!

ReplyDeleteWOW! that is so precious! Do you think it was a self portrait!? so lovely thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletethat is awesome. As a mother, it doesn't really get any better than that...just pure admiration for their achievements xx
ReplyDeleteIt's exciting isn't it when you can see stuff in their pictures (that you're supposed to see).
ReplyDeleteHe's so young to be adding that sort of detail. The round body and even hair! Very ace, I'd say!! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a champ!
ReplyDelete:-)
Oh that's so cool! Bubble has a chalkboard too but we're only scribbling at this stage... despite my artistic efforts ;o)
ReplyDeleteOh, I so get your excitement over this. (And they are pretty fabulous people too). Ella has just progressed from the potato-looking people to now having bodies AND heads! It's such a thrill for me to see. x
ReplyDeleteIt's such a buzz to see that development in them. I feel the same each time I see my toddler progressing in her drawing skills too. She's not at little people yet but if last night's effort is anything to go by, it won't be long.
