We really had the best weekend, it was a great mini break at home, it was so nice MrS didn't have to work and we could spend quality time together.
Saturday we headed out early, on our first trip to the zoo as a family! It was amazing, the little ones absolutely loved it. Riley used the map to guide us around, the favourite animals were the giraffe, zebras, seals and pelicans. We all enjoyed it so much we even decided to become friends of the zoo and get the yearly pass as an Easter present to us all! Once we got home we all had a good nap before getting stuck into some Easter crafting, we made bunny ears and little baskets. MrS then set out making fresh pasta with the kiddies, they loved it! it was so delicious and best of all I didn't have to cook it! At bedtime Riley decided we should also leave some snacks out for the Easter bunny and made him a little feast together with some lego for him to play with! So much fun.
On Sunday the little ones woke early, excited at the prospect of chocolate eggs! They gathered their bunny ears and baskets and went straight into the egg hunt! This is the first time we've done one, and they thought it was the best thing ever, I loved seeing their little faces light up with every egg they found!
After a few little chocolate eggs we had breakfast and headed off for a swim, a great way to exhaust the little people and us! Back home again we all had a nice big nap before MrS prepared another yummy dinner for us, fennel, garlic and rosemary pork in the rotisserie served with home-made coleslaw and salad. So divine.
Seriously best Easter ever. I like the traditions we made and can't wait to do it all again next year!
