Loud

She is so loud this girl. It's not just her whinging and screaming so much like this, it's her regular voice, excitement and volume that just does not turn down. It sounds ridiculous I know.
But by the end of the day my head is hurting and my ears feel like they may just bleed a little.
Tonight, once MrS arrived home, I headed to the shower for a moments peace.
I put my head back and let the warm water run over me. The noise was gone.
All I could hear was the rushing water over my ears and the thoughts in my head.
I love my little people but sometimes we all just need to step back, if even for a moment.
Just enough to recharge and start all over again.

  1. Oh, I hear you! (geddit?) My big kid is nearly 5 and still hasn't found her 'inside' voice. And when my twins get their whinge on... Argh! I feel sorry for the neighbours.

  2. I have to admit to reaching for the nurofen at 5pm lately. My daughter's also very loud. Hope you got a chance to recharge x

  3. Oooh, yep, I'm with you - both my two have discovered their voices recently. The noise... Some days I think it's going to kill me!

  6. Oh I do hear you loud and clear. One of my girls has a very loud voice I'm always reminding her that I'm right here to talk just normally, I'm sure she will get it one day. I'm glad you were able to get some time to just be even if it was for a small moment. xx

  7. There is noise and then there is noise and at our house the noise is WAY too much for me at the moment - I am sure our neighbours hate us (well not really but you know what I mean!)
I too love to retreat to the shower ... nothing better!

  8. They are so loud aren't they. Is it a girl thing? Because my boy never screamed. I'm sure they could shatter glass. Step back, breathe......have a drink :)

  10. Oh my goodness, exactly the same here re noise and escaping to shower as soon as hub arrived home. Your little ones always seem so well behaved & quiet when I see them - they must be on their best behaviour in a crowd! My house shakes from the noise my two makes! Glad to know I'm not alone!!!!

I hope you're relaxing now in the quiet house of two sleeping kids.xoxoxo

  12. Oh I get it, I really get it. My little one doesn't stop all day and sometimes I hide from him just to get away from the noise. The sight of my husband through the door at 7.20pm was all that I needed to escape to the bedroom away from my two. And the lego. On the wooden bloody floor.

  13. Ruby is also quite the loud one. It seems very ironic however that she herself is quite sensitive and disturbed by loud noises!

  14. Oh I love this Jody. I was smiling while reading it and also cringing a little, as I KNOW that kind of noise. I have a little fellow who is super loud and he has a screech that would peel paint off the walls... in fact, I think it HAS peeled paint of our walls, haha.
I am the same, always love to get into the shower and let the water run over my face and ears. So relaxing and quite the escape from the realities outside that bathroom.
She is a gorgeous, albeit loud, little lady though xo

  16. Oh I hear you on this... the twins are SO LOUD... screeches, laughter, constant movement, shouting, laughing... and noise is stressful!! What a difference their being at school this year makes, I can bear the racket in the morning much better, knowing it's got a time limit.

Whew... the teens are quieter amazingly, apart from the heavy metal music of course.

  17. I have three air raid sirens at my place... I have no idea why they can't whisper at least some of the time!! x
