Ants

When you can't bet them, join them I say. Ants have invaded our house, well kitchen anyway. I'm not quiet sure why, maybe they are seeking refuge from the rain? or maybe its simply the hundreds and thousands of crumbs that lay un-swept on my floor? That could be it.

Inspired by the main man Mister Maker himself, this afternoon we made these cute little ant critters, just for fun. Although I am not sure who had more fun me or the kids?

All you need to make some of your own is, an egg carton, pipe cleaners, paint and some googly eyes, go on you know you want to. Perfect rainy day craft for ant lovers.

*new smocks courtesy of our trip to ikea this morning with my gorgeous friend Dayle. If you don't know her yet pop over and say hi, I know you'll love her.

Hope your week is going well?

x jody

  3. Oh Jody, they are the cutest little critters... and two beautiful little creators of them at work there too! Gorgeous photos.
We had a big ant problem a few months back. If you really want to get rid of them, the ant rid baits do work. They had become so bad at ours, they'd started getting into the bedrooms, it was awful!

  5. What wonderful crafting and such lovely big smiles - my little ones always love to make a mess, but that's half the fun of it.

  7. Gah, those ants are so cute!

My week has been slow and sad. A funeral, lots of sleep, baby with a cold, husband busy at work, I'm craving sunshine and sand and all things summery.

Only 8 weeks to go till spring though!

  12. Your darlings look like they had fun making these. They are cute little ants too. Of course it wouldn't be a Mister Maker craft without googly eyes :) We copied him yesterday too, making some feathery, googly eyed chickens!
