I have always loved to sew. But it is one of those things I haven't done for a very long time. I don't know that it's something I'm good at, I just like doing it. On Sunday I decided it was time for a little creative project, I dug out the old sewing machine and this fabulous fabric house kit I had picked up from Cintia's lovely little shop My Poppet. I sat down and sewed a village. I'm a little proud of my myself, can you tell? It was a great little project to get me back into it. It felt great to be doing something creative and make something for the little ones.
I have left the sewing machine out in the hope I'll use it a little more frequently.
Do you sew?

These are very cute, you should be rightfully proud! x
ReplyDeleteI don't, but I wanna sew a village too!! x
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I bought my first sewing machine earlier this year to make stuff for Luca's birthday. Do you think it's come out since?x
ReplyDeleteI am always lamenting I don't have more time to sew, then the other day I was hanging out some washing and about half the girls clothes that day were made by me. It eventually adds up to something, a little here and a little there. I love your village. Perhaps you could sew a city next... x
ReplyDeleteSo cute. Lovely little vilage. I love to sew too but the sewing machine hasn't seen the light of day for a long time!
ReplyDeleteOh they are so cute. Definately worthy of dusting off the sewing machine. You watch, you'll find yourself thinking about the next sewing mission!! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are brill and so remind me of the old children's programme I used to watch as a kid 'Playschool' - fabulous.

Oh that's gorgeous Jody, well done, you did a beautiful job for your first project back. I love to sew too, but I prefer to sew by hand. I think if I took some lessons with the machine, I'd feel more confident with it though.
ReplyDeleteKeep going, you're good at it xo
These are SO cute!
ReplyDeleteI can't sew... at all. The last time I touched a sewing machine was Yr 7 Design & Tech class I think I broke the machine several times. I was more into pushing the peddle for fun, than actually learning the technique.
My grandmother used to knit and I loved watching her create pieces.
My gran-in-law is a fantastic seamstress and can make ANYTHING. She is 82 and still sews every week. Bless her heart.
More sewing pics please! Love this!
xx
you pretty much summed me up Jody, I'm a little project kinda girl with big aspirations to make it more one day.
ReplyDeleteOh Jodi - these are lovely! I can just imagine how much Lyla will love playing with these x
ReplyDeletego mum! I have that ikea fabric, such a cute little idea, I remember seeing them on Cintia's blog. I love to sew too, but have not done much since eliot was born.. am trying to get back into it, especially with my new *clean* space! x
