Four : the party + the birthday

I can't believe a week has past since my baby turned four. I wish I could slow time down, it really passes too quickly - did I say that already?

The little man had a brilliant day. A small party at home the afternoon before, with a chocolate dinosaur cake as requested. He was very lucky to receive lots of lovely presents. From us a bike and mini arcade machine made by Dad {more on that later}. We spent the day together as a family, Grandparents included with a mandatory trip to the park to try out the new wheels. As a tradition in our house the birthday person gets to choose whatever they would like to eat at each meal. Riley chose honey toast for breakfast, avocado sandwiches for our picnic lunch with apple juice and a cupcake on the side. Dinner was tacos with the salad made by him and vanilla ice cream cones with candles for dessert. Lyla sang happy birthday to him for what felt like the entire day. He was so excited and really had the best day, he couldn't get the sweet smile off his face. Such a joy to witness.

Love you my boy.

  2. Gorgeous. Can't believe our little men are so close in age, literally! I posted something similar yesterday about S' bday. I love the way you do parties by the way Jody...just the right amount of "done". We have the tradition of choosing food too - we had bacon & eggs, fish & chips and penne with chicken, broccoli and pine nuts. :) These boys of ours are a bit special aren't they? xxx
