Advent Inspiration

I have been trawling pinterest for Christmas ideas. This year I am making our very first advent calendar, I have found so many inspiring things to make and do. This printable advent calendar from Mr Printables really caught my eye. So original and so super gorgeous, I just had to share!

I'm still deciding on what I am going to do, so would love to hear your ideas!

Have you made your own Advent calendar?

Do you go for something more traditional?

What kind of goodies do you put inside?

  1. oh it's so cute! My grandma made a hanging quilted one for my little sister, and even though she's now a bit old for it, it comes out at christmas time and is used for cards and pretty things. There's also one at our beach house which stays up all year xx

  2. I'm loving all the advent inspiration out there at the moment! Some many creative people and things! We have a traditional hanging one that Hubby's mum made using her patchwork skills, it's beautiful.

  4. We love an advent calendar here. I made one out of old doilies last year so I'm looking forward to pulling it out again. I put little things like christmas stamps, a jar of glitter...things we can use for some christmas craft. Oh I love this time of year! x

  5. I made some, using a teatowel as the back, I then used felt to make pockets. thing is, I did them all different sizes, trying to be all creative, then realised each childs was different. I filled the pockets with different things, chocolate, a match box car, stickers. But I've since learn't that they need to be the same, as in the kids need to get the same thing, or level of quality on the same day. Otherwise all hell breaks loose. I ended up picking up some really cute santa ones from spotlight a year or so ago, love them.

  6. That's a great idea. I have a couple that I've used. In the past I've bought little gifts - magnets, cars, Freddos, stickers, notebooks etc. This year I'm getting useful things and sending the boys on a treasure hunt each day.

  8. That is one cute advent. The one we made last year was out of mini envelopes that had little notes in them regarding what was to be received/done that day...the kids loved it.

  10. So cute! I've made mine for the first time this year too... and I'm so pleased I did it. Something that will be with my children for years to come.
I'm putting stickers, pencils, little toys and a couple of chocolates in ours. I much prefer useful things.
Can't wait to see what you come up with! xx
