What I know about death

What I know about death is: it's shit. Anyway you look at it. Whether you know its coming or not. Whether the person is young or old. It's shit. And it's heartbreaking. Often I feel more so for the people left behind than those who have past. My heart aches and I wish there is more I could do to ease the pain. But only time can heal.

I feel I have had the misfortune of experiencing death more times than I care to count. I think it is unfair, that in my twenty nine years, I have already lost so many people, some close, some not so. But it never gets any easier. I mean some deaths are easier to deal with than others, but it is never easy.

Mr S's Dad, Pa, died suddenly on Sunday. I think we are all still in shock.

Life is just really shit sometimes.

Paper Caper

We have spent the week at home battling this relentless cold. And if we weren't all snuggled up in the big bed, reading or watching a movie, we were drawing. Seems all the little ones have had the energy for, the prolific little artists that they are. Each and every one they hung themselves on the fridge. I am sure it's under there somewhere... So much paper.

So my big question to you is, what do you do with all the paper?! I hang extra special ones on the wall, but not quite sure what to do with the rest?

{weekend} with added vitamin d

A quiet weekend for us with sick little ones. Apologies for the photo heavy post, I am running low on words tonight, nursing a sore throat myself. Willing this cold away, hoping it doesn't take hold of me too.

. Kiddies sick
. Mr S cooks us a most lovely dinner
. Fallen leaves to decorate
. Lego the current obsession
. Morning at the park for some vitamin D
. Working on my photography skills
. Dinner out to celebrate
. Kiddies still sick

Wishing you all wellness and warmth this week.

I am very excited to be heading back to the Stokehouse for dinner tonight, to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary. Six years of marriage, twelve years together, I don't know where the time has gone. Well I do. We've been through so much, more than a lot. But I wouldn't change it for the world.

Happy anniversary my love.

two peas

Looking through all the photos on my phone tonight and all I see is these two little peas.
Peas in a pod. So so different, yet so similar at the same time. Can never get enough of them.

Happy weekend my friends!

Kids parties and too many lollies

Our weekend was just that, kids parties and too many lollies. Ok that's a little extension of the truth... it was probably just me who ate too many lollies and we did do other things too. Like hit up the local pub for a family outing and good meal on Saturday night, followed by a lazy Sunday morning at home featuring the beast breakfast ever, it was so good I didn't even take a photo of it. In fact I didn't pick up the camera at all the entire weekend. The shame. Sunday afternoon was party number one, then backed up with another one today. Both for sets of twins. Which meant four presents to think of. Kids parties are fun, until they just get a little crazy and out of hand. Lyla is not interested in the cakes or lollies at all, but Riley on the other hand can't get enough, he would sit at a table and eat chocolate, cakes and goodies for the entire party if I let him. {which I don't} Then I catch him sneaking them when he thinks I'm not looking! Cheeky monkey! He has a sweet tooth just like his mama. {she says as she sits here devouring yet another lolly bag}

How was your weekend?

Do you have a price limit when it comes to buying presents? what types of gifts do you normally like to buy?

Yesterday {snap it}

It was cold and wet but we rugged up and ventured to the garden for some fresh air. To clear our heads. It felt good to be out in the cold, yesterday.
