Colour On

I am very happy to report that my work-from-home-project is going great and  am super dooper excited that I received my first big hair colour delivery today! Using a quality hair colour that is more natural and ethically made, as well as being being gentle on the hair and giving superior results is really important to me, it was a little tricky for me to source, but its here! and well worth the wait!

Tonight I'll be busy colouring my own hair!

What do you have planned?

Happy Friday!

Keeping Cool

It's been heating up here and today was an absolute scorcher. I like the summer heat, but today was just excessive! Our air-conditioning is cranked up, the wading pool was pulled out, we are loving homemade mango icy-poles, icy cold water and sleeping under fresh cotton sheets.

How are you keeping cool?

Advent Inspiration

I have been trawling pinterest for Christmas ideas. This year I am making our very first advent calendar, I have found so many inspiring things to make and do. This printable advent calendar from Mr Printables really caught my eye. So original and so super gorgeous, I just had to share!

I'm still deciding on what I am going to do, so would love to hear your ideas!

Have you made your own Advent calendar?

Do you go for something more traditional?

What kind of goodies do you put inside?

Saturday + Sunday

* Our weekend started with a swim at the local pool.
* Sourdough pancakes for lunch, I think we might all be addicted.
* A sleep for the tired little swimmers including me.
* A girls night out to see a lovely little exhibition and then onto the Gin Palace - so much fun.
* Sunday started slowly with poached eggs and tea, my hubs so good to me.
* The day was spent in the garden, clearing, pruning and pottering.
* A thriving passionfuit tree found hidden in our garden, was moved and fed. I hope it survives.
* The boys cut the grass. Riley always so keen to help, worked so hard all day.
* Tired Lyla, played happily on her own for hours with a bucket of water and things she found in the garden.

Wishing you all a happy week!

In their hands

 I love watching the way these two interact, especially when they think I'm not looking. Mostly they bicker and push each others buttons like all siblings do, but really they do care for each other, are kind and compassionate when they need to be and look out for each other.

The other day I witnessed this, Riley teaching Lyla how to draw around her hand and then letting her draw around his. I luckily snapped a few photos before the moment passed. It only lasted for a few minutes, but was something so special to witness, my heart swells with such love and pride.

Happy Friday lovelies.

Saturday + Sunday

* A sleep in and sourdough pancakes, the best I've ever had. Hubs has got a great little sourdough starter going now, crumpets are next on the list.
* A little work
* Hawaiian party at Uncle Berts, lots of sand and fun, oh to be young again.
* More sourdough, this time bread, amazing.
* Fairy/dress up party. Lyla squeezed into her size one tutu. Riley insisted on going as a Viking, do you know how hard it is to find a kids Viking costume?! Bath mat, gumboots, home made sword and shield did the trick.
* Happy 3rd birthday Miss P!
* Face painting
* PiƱata
* Too much sugar consumed by all.
* Bath, eggs for dinner and movie in the big bed, early night for all!

Another weekend passed by all too quickly and now Monday has been and gone too, time is flying by. I'm starting to spend a lot of time thinking about Christmas and all the crafty things we can start to do!

Happy week to you!

Sometimes I miss the good old Friday gratefuls over at Brons place, I forget the rules, hashtags and days that I should be doing things now {sorry Bron}

But mostly I miss taking the time each week to force myself to stop, think and reflect on all that I am grateful for.

In the crazy, hurried, busy lives we lead, its so nice to take a moment to be grateful for the good in all the crazy. Because life is like that, even if we don't want it to be, its busy. And it can pass us by so easily, especially at this time of the year.

So this week I am forcing myself to stop. To think and reflect.

* I'm grateful for our afternoons, at the beach and at the park feeding the ducks.

* I'm grateful for my gorgeous hubs, who misses me when I'm not there.

* I'm grateful for my two beautiful children, I feel so blessed that they are mine.

I'm looking forward to lots of family time and celebrations over the weekend.

What do you have planned?

What are you grateful for this week?

Happy weekend lovelies!

We are blessed to have a fairly large backyard, the kids relish the time they spend out there. Playing in the cubby, digging in the dirt, watering the plants, chasing the dog and playing on the swing, always with the swing.

It makes me so happy to see them get close to nature, make up there own games, use their imaginations and get dirty! Childhood is about getting dirty, right?

{um... and what about that hair!!}

Snaps - D3200

I have been busy playing around with a new camera! Cnet have kindly sent me a new Nikon D3200 and loads of accessories to review for them. Another little thing I'm working on. I'm not too sure about it yet, but am enjoying the process and having fun shooting my gorgeous little ones in the mean time!

What type of camera do you have?
