New Year

This year has been a fairly ordinary one for us, we've had a lot of good times, but also far too many low points and sadness for my liking. I'm not one for resolutions, all I hope is next year be a better one for us.

From my family to yours, we wish you a very joyous and happy New Year.

These Days

The days around here lately have been filled and busy in the preparation for visitors and Christmas, whilst there is winding down in some areas of our life like work and kinder the other areas are winding up with shopping, present wrapping, menu planning and catch ups.

We have spent more days at the beach with lovely friends, making our Christmas puddings and baking, had dinners out, more crafting with the kids {oh the glitter!} and watched Riley perform at his end of year concert {which was heart meltingly, tear jerkingly awesome}.

I love this time of year, I can feel the excitement building and it makes me feel childlike once again. We have lots of things planned over the next couple of days/week, spending lots of time with some pretty special people which I'm looking forward too. Mostly I'm looking forward to Christmas with my gorgeous little ones, the are so SO excited, the first year they have really 'got it', so magical to behold.

This weekend we have a fabulous Mexican inspired feast planned as part of our Christmas celebration with my family. I cannot wait!

Wishing you all a happy and festive weekend!

The Christmas Concert

Yesterday was Riley's three year old kinder Christmas party and concert. The kids sang, danced and made their Mums cry.

It is incredible how much our little man has changed in a year. We have watched him grow into a confident, inquisitive, knowing, creative, kind boy. I was so proud of him yesterday when he sat in front of a large group of people and sang with out a care in the world. He was so pleased with himself and all he has achieved. And we couldn't be prouder.

Love you little man, but please stop growing up so quickly.

Beach Boxes

This week I have been busy reviewing the Nikon D600 for Cnet. It's my first taste of full frame and I think I'm in love. These are some of the photographs from today when we ventured down to some local beach boxes. Such a fun, vibrant place to shoot, I can't wait to share more with you! So sad I have to give this camera back!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Line dry

One thing I love about this awfully hot weather is the crisp line dried washing. I hate washing at every other time of year, I battle and struggle to stay on top of it. But when its 36 degrees, it dries in five minutes flat. I can stand in the sun, fold at the line and watch the children play, it simplifies the whole task.

And crisp line dried washing makes me happy.

What's making you happy today?
