Spontaneous Zoo Trip

This year I've decided to try and be a little more spontaneous, to step out of my comfort zone, to get out and about and experience more with my little ones. I want to be more of a yes Mum.

So this week when the little ones nagged to go to the zoo at 11am, I said yes, when I would normally have said no. So spare of the moment we packed out bags and headed off. And it worked, we had a fabulous time. We're members of the zoo so it wasn't like it cost us anything, we stayed only for a few hours, the kids chose a couple of animals they wanted to see and finished off with an icecream at the meerkats, the favourite animal of the day!

Have you done anything spontaneous this week?

Happy weekend lovelies!

  1. This is the only way to visit the zoo. Short, sweet and easy kind of visit, that way you'll go more often!

I spontaneously wagged home and work and went to the movies this morning. I saw 'This is 40' and it made me feel much better. x

  3. Such lovely photos. I love a spontaneous moment of fun. We went to a bug show with all sorts of insects in a spontaneous moment and I have to say it was interesting and "scream" for bugs but Miss 7 is into all things nature so Mummy was brave. xx

  4. It can seem so hard to be a yes mom...it always seems that there are too many things to consider to be spontaneous.
But I always find that all those things that seemed important have a way of working out...and you always have a great time doing whatever you said yes to!

  5. Gorgeous Jody. I've been trying to be more of a yes mum too. I've been finding it a little more relaxing. Ironic really.

  6. I want to be more of a yes mum too - leave the chores to a little later and join in more. The last two evenings I've been playing bowling on the Xbox with everyone - and I have WON both nights........I wonder if they will ask me to join in again tomorrow? x

  7. Oh being Spontaneous is awesome.. and those zoo memberships are worth their weight in gold! We used to go for an hour or two and chose 5 animals to see.. was much less stressful!

Looked like you enjoyed it.. oh and who doesn't love those cheeky meerkats !
Im a firm believer in the spontaneous.. I make sure some aspect of our day - even if its just a different cafe is a spontaneous choice! Adds a bit of excitement to the day!
